Japan has all kinds of cool vending machines.
It even have vending machine for bread in a can. It's so convenient! People in Japan can have hot, fresh bread anytime! This is especially good for people going to work in a hurry. ;)
Why can't we have such vending machine in Canada?

Dog and Cat with a heart

A male chihuahua named "Heart-kun" has been born on May 18, 2007 with a perfect heart shaped marking on his back. Shop owner Emiko Sakurada said that this is the first time a puppy with these marks had been born out of a 1,000 that she has bred.

Ramen Baths

The Yunessan spa in Japan's hot spring town of Hakone has been offering a lot of amazing baths, such as a wine bath, a coffee bath, a shake bath, curry bath, and green tea spa, etc. Wow!! Now, it also offers noodle baths!!

Because of health regulations, the spa does not use edible noodles. But, the bath water contains pork broth supplied by a nearby noodle shop. Spa officials say taking a dip in the noodle bath is good for health as ingredients in the broth such as pepper collagen help improve the bather's metabolism and cleanse the skin.

A ticket that allows access to all baths costs about 3,500 yen (approx. Cdn $30).


It would be nice to try... I wonder what it feels like inside the noodle bath... hee hee...

Why can't we have something similar in Canada or HK? Congee bath... Wonton noodle bath... Shark fin soup bath... Abalone bath... hahahahaha....

World's smallest humanoid robot in production

Japanese toymaker Tomy is showing off the 'Omnibot17u i-SOBOT' robot today in Tokyo. It is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the world's smallest humanoid robot in production. The 16.5 cm tall robot, powered by Sanyo Electric's eneloop nickel-metal hydride rechargeable batteries, is able to talk about 180 vocabularies and has about 200 different types of action patterns. The robot will go on sale in Japan for a price of 29,800 yen (about Cdn $258).

Wow!! The world's smallest humanoid robot!!
With a single charge, I wonder how long will the batteries last.
$258 is a bit too expensive. I guess I would buy it if it is under $100. (^0~)

1:1 scale Gundam RX78

The Fujikyu Highland amusement park has a new Gundam attraction featuring a life-size, 1:1 scale version of RX-78-2 Gundam. Wow!! This attraction is openning on July 21st. This Gundam is 18 meters long and is the world's first 1:1 scale Gundam. Amazing!!
I wish that I am living in Japan now so that I can go... ( ﾟ ヮﾟ)
Why can't we have this in Canada?? woo woo woo.... (T_T)

Japanese emoticons

I've been using vertical and horizontal emoticons for years. I just thought there are two different styles of emoticons.

Today, I stumble across a web site (Hiroette.com) that talks about the difference between the two. The vertical ones are actually Western emoticons and the horizontal ones are Japanese emoticons.
Personally, I think the Japanese emoticons are more lively and cute while the Western emoticons is simpler.

Sanrio Dessert Shop

日本玩具商Sanrio在大阪開設首間甜品店，精心炮製出圖中的吉蒂貓牛奶蛋糕（右）及用吉蒂杯盛載的慕絲。


I can't find any more information about this Sanrio Dessert Shop in the internet.

It would be nice if Sanrio opens the same shop in Canada. I would like to try the Hello Kitty desserts!!

HAL-5 Exoskeleton

Want to be like Noa Izumi in Patlabor? Want to be like Robocop?

Yoshiyuki Sankai, a professor at the graduate school of the University of Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture, has developed a cyborg-type robot suit. If a wearer wants to move a limb, its motor, reading signals from the brain, will go into action, and the hands and legs will move together with the suit. Its special feature is that the suit's hands and legs do not move on their own, but the person can move them at will.


This robot suit, HAL (Hybrid Assistive Limb), is originally developed to help elderly or disabled people walk around with their own legs. It can expand and improve physical capabilities of human being too. By wearing HAL-5, you can hold up to 40 kg load by arms and can increase the maximum weight of leg press from 100 kg to 180 kg.


Starting in 2008, 400 to 500 suits will be produced annually. For an individual, the suit will be leased for 70,000 yen (approx. Cdn $664) a month plus a maintenance fee.

This HAL-5 is really cool!
For people who have to carry heavy stuff at work, this suit will definitely help them... no more back pains!
Since this suit can be used to climb mountains, tourists can use this to climb up the Rocky Mountains... may be Mt. Everest too!!

不用自己煮飯lu... 不過要準時洗碗... 唔可以再留番D碗兩，三日先洗... (^_~)

她買咗兩件衫送比我... hee hee... (^o^) 一件黑色 polo shirt.... 一件係現在香港興的針織背心外套... hee hee...

她還帶了很多八卦雜誌返來... 當然有很多restaurants廣告... 令我好想返香港玩+食嘢... yummy yummy... :-9
其中一本介紹 Hello Kitty... 有好多 Hello Kitty 日用品... 連打麻雀D麻雀都有... 又有「Hello Kitty 粉紅夢幻客房」 (酒店房係高雄漢來酒店... http://www.grand-hilai.com.tw).... 又有 Hello Kitty 飛機 ( 係長榮航空...機內所有嘢....飛機餐, 登機證, 廁紙, 嘔吐袋... 都係 Hello Kitty... 不過短程來回都要 approx. HK$2000... 好貴... http://evakitty.evaair.com/index.htm).... 重有 Hello Kitty 觀光巴士 (這巴士係東京...HK$88一日... http://www.hatobus.co.jp/index.html)... 哇... 見到這麼多 Hello Kitty 好開心... 令我好想去台灣和東京旅行... ( ~^_^)~
