星期曰發生咗一件好恐怖嘅事... 我隻右眼特然好怕光...就算係小小嘅 Night Light 也令我的右眼和腦痛... 我重慘過 vampire... Vampire 只係見太陽光死, 而我見所有光都死..

昨日媽咪請了半日假帶我去 Walk-in Clinic 看醫生 (其他醫生都 fully-booked... 唉!! 加拿大看醫生真難!!!)... 醫生開咗支眼藥水比我...

今日終於去看 Optometrist... 等咗一個鐘先見到他... 都係話遲D會好... 不用藥... 下星期四再去見他一次... 見咗等於沒見... 重要比幾十元... 不過見咗 Optometrist 安心小小...

今日整日都似獨眼龍... 因為右眼 still sensitive to light... 惟有帶 sunglasses 並單眼... 我發覺帶 sunglasses 好難看 Monitor 的字...

今晚和TaTa打完squash在家看電視時睡着了... 所以很夜才煲中藥... 中藥要浸半小時和煲 approx. 40 minutes... 很麻煩又難喝... 明晚喝最後一劑了... 希望喝完之後就會完完全全康復啦...

我公司七月要搬去Brampton...
所有under我哋個VP嘅員工都要七月搬.... ~~~~(>_<)~~~~ 好慘啊!!! 現在十分鐘就由家返公司... 搬了後... 五十分鐘都未必能返到公司... (._.) The new address is 8200 Dixie Road, Brampton.

行Hwy. 407 返工... 個荷包要入ICU... One way costs $6... Both ways cost $12... ($_$)行Major Mackenzie Drive 返工... 就會塞車並拿Traffic Ticket... 因為Major Mac 得兩條Lanes和maximum speed is 50km... 行得快可能會收Traffic Ticket...

今日, 我終於去車行為我個仔換腳啦... 我架車換了新的 Four Season Tires... (^_^)

我發現咗一樣奇怪的事... 當我放工回家拿舊 tires 去車行時... 我見到門口的鬱金香巳"開"了... <(^_^)>



但當我換完 tires 回家時... 我發現所有鬱金香都"收"了... 變回花蕾... (ó ò)


好彩有相為證... 不然, 我會以為自己眼花和記錯... ¯\(o_º)/¯

今天放工回家時... 發現屋前的鬱金香巳經有花了!! (^_^)
我立即拿 digital camera 去幫那些花影了一輯靚相... (n_n)


最近忙於工作... 每日都沖沖忙忙... 都沒有時間去好好看看身邊的美麗事物... 好像鮮艷的花，藍藍的天, 刺眼的太陽，etc... 有些事是一去不返的... 過去了後悔也沒用... (╥_╥) 如果屋前的鬱金香謝了, 就要再等一年才有得看... (>_<)

神創造了這麽多美麗的事物給我們欣賞... 可惜我們因為各種事情而無心欣賞... 白白浪費了它...
我們應該多點在百忙中抽時間去看看... 就是看一分鐘也好... (ô ô)

中國一直有很多生意人生產冒牌貨... 有光碟、電腦軟件、手飾、手袋, etc... 不過最近更過份... 出現了冒牌法拉利跑車。 ¯\(o_º)/¯

Dangerous vegetables from China!!

The latest deadly food from China is vegetables!! 農藥蔬菜!!

綠色和平警告，食用過量農藥可引起急性中毒，病徵包括昏迷、嘔吐及暈眩，嚴重可引致死亡。有研究顯示，同時食用含三種農藥蔬果可令農藥影響激增一百倍。長期食用含農藥蔬菜可導致癌症等慢性疾病，周婉蘋稱，是次在番茄樣本驗出的林丹可能引致乳癌。含農藥蔬菜亦影響內分泌，令生殖系統出現問題，減少精子數量，嚴重可引致不育。此外，部分農藥可由孕婦母體傳給胎兒，影響胎兒發育。

What's wrong with the Business people in China? Don't they have respect for life? It seems to me that they only care about money, money, and more money. They don't care whether the food will kill people or not... It's like Chineses killing Chineses.... :'(

As a Chinese, I really feel sad and angry...

China already has a long history of deadly food prior to the dangerous farm chemical vegetables:
- purple dye yam
- fake eggs
- fake power milk for babies
- thousand year moon cake (moon cake made with old lotus paste)
- soy sauce made with hair
- snacks that use oil from sewage
- 孔雀石綠淡水魚
- 冒牌午餐肉罐頭
- etc.

The list is soooooo long that I don't remember all....

染髮

Yesterday, there was a news in HK about 染髮....
It's so scary.... Colouring your hairs might cause cancer.... Even though I only do highlights, but the dyes used for highlight and for colouring all hairs are the same.... This makes me wonder whether I should do highlights or not... :(
Well.... since I do highlights every 3 to 6 months.... I guess it should be ok....
This is another example of the chinese saying: "Girls want beauty but not life"... ;-)

北京一名五旬女子染髮長達十六年，最終患上白血病死亡。主診醫生相信她可能因為長期接觸染髮劑內的致癌物質對苯二胺（p-PDA），該化學物在染髮時的加熱過程中，通過頭皮進入血管，再隨血液循環進入骨髓，令造血幹細胞出現病變，導致白血病。

除北京外，河南和陝西等省份的醫院也接獲類似個案。外國研究顯示，經常染髮人士，罹患乳癌、皮膚癌、白血病和膀胱癌的機會率也會增加。

中大臨床腫瘤科學系榮譽教授張文龍表示，英國曾進行研究，發現染髮人士患淋巴瘤的機會增加。 香港沒有個案顯示病人因使用染髮劑直接引致白血病，但醫學界相信，不少染髮劑含有多種致癌物質，他不排除長期染髮有致癌風險，故腫瘤科醫生會提醒癌症病人切忌染髮。

皮膚科醫生史泰祖表示，未聽聞染髮引致白血病，但染髮劑內另一種物質苯二胺，引致皮膚敏感的情況則常見，而且部分人染髮後數月，甚至數年，只出現輕微頭皮脫落，經過皮膚測試，才發現對苯二胺敏感，故市民染髮前，應先將染髮劑塗在幼嫩的皮膚上，確定沒有敏感才使用，而且染髮不宜過密，每月不應多過一次。香港醫學會會長蔡堅指他曾接到病人在染髮後出現頭皮發炎和脫髮而求診，病人停止染髮後，病徵便不藥而愈。

A group of working adults got together to visit their University lecturer.

The Lecturer was happy to see them. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. The Lecturer offered his former students the cups to get drinks for themselves. When all the students had a cup in hand with water, the Lecturer spoke, If you noticed, all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal that you only want the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all you wanted was water, not the cup, but we unconsciously went for the better cups."Just like in life, if Life is Water, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold / maintain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change."

今朝等咗兩個幾鐘... (-_-#) 終於見到醫生...
我叫醫生開種勁D嘅咳藥比我... 點知醫生話我之前食那種咳藥巳經係最勁...
十人中有九人食咗這種咳藥就會唔咳，而且他們只吃我一半的分量...即係半茶匙...
最後那個人只要加重分量就可以止咳...
既然醫生話可以食兩茶匙... 我當然食兩茶匙啦... 因為我真的不想再咳了...
點知食完之後我仍然咳到想死... ~~~~>_<~~~~

我一定係 alien... 不然的話... 為什麼那種咳藥唔 work??? (-_-;)

那種咳藥會令人 drowsy... 我好想睡... (=_=) 但又咳到睡唔到... (O_O) 真慘!!!

Another Athens Pastries store...

After knowing that there is an Athens Pastries store in my neighbourhood, I was very eager to go and I had the perfect opportunity last Friday. Since I had to attend a meeting at 2550 Victoria Park after lunch, I decided to have lunch at Athens.

This Athens store looked exactly like the one downtown.

I wanted to try something that I had not try before in the downtown store: minced meat philo pastry and Galakto Bouriko. Unfortunately, the minced meat philo pastry was out and I didn't have time to wait. So, I ordered Spanakopita (flaky philo pastry stuffed with a thin layer of Spinach and Feta Cheese) and Galakto Bouriko (thick slices of custard sandwiched between thin layers of philo pastry).


Well, the portion of spanakopita in this store was smaller than the downtown store by 1/5 (I think). The philo pastry was not as fresh and flaky. I guess more people visit the downtown store, so the pastries in that store are better as the turnover is faster. Anyway, the pastry was still good.

The galakto bouriko was very delicious. Between thin layers of philo pastry, there was a thick layer of custard and honey. This pastry was like a mixture of loukoumades (honey drenched little balls of fried dough) and bougatsa (flaky philo pastry stuffed with a thin layer of custard). Every bite was filled with honey, custard, and flaky philo pastry. :-9



Next time, I might buy those ready-made frozen philo pastries and bake them at home. ;-)

I want to kill my throat ar... (ò ó) I cough so much that it's like I am trying to cough my lungs out... :(
I didn't have a good sleep last night... My cough kept waking me up... So, I feel like a panda today... (@_@)

Two more days to go before I can see my doctor... I try to book an appointment last Thurs... My doctor is only available on coming Tues... If I have a critical illness, I would've dead by now.... (-_-#) Now a days..... It's so hard to book a doctor's appointment. (T_T)

Coughing.... my worst nightmare....

I started to cough yesterday.....

Today, my coughing is getting worse..... On top of that, I have sore throat too....

Why coughing? I have such a hard time getting rid of it.... It's my worst nightmare.... Once I start coughing, I can't make it stop.... :(

This year is definitely not a good year for me. It's only March, and I've been sick twice already. :(

Please pray for my heath!!

I am normally a "Lan Fan Chu" (sleepy pig)... Don't have any problem sleeping and don't want to wake up in the morning... but once in a while... I will have problem sleeping and keep waking up at night... :( I don't know why...
I already try not to think about anything before I sleep... What's keeping me awake?? Is it because of MSG?? Is there something bothering me subconsciously??

Greek Pastry Tour

Yesterday afternoon, Candy and I went downtown to the Danforth Ave. area for Greek pastries. Candy had organized a couple of walking tours in the past, but this was my first time joining her... :D I was very excited!!

After getting off at Broadview subway station, we walked along Danforth Ave. to a little chocolate store called "Simryn". Simryn offers a variety of home- made chocolate truffles.

Since I like chocolate with alIcohol, I brought a BRANDY chocolate. Candy brought 2 chocolates and one of them is blueberry.

The chocolate is good but not enough brandy taste.

Then, we walked along Danforth to another store: Dash Kitchen

Dash Kitchen sells different kinds of jams and kitchen sauces. It also sells a lot of ready made take-out food (e.g. salads, roasted chicken, salmon, sandwiches, etc). Everything looks delicious.

I had a taste of the fruit salad. It was very good... yummy yummy... ;) It contains pineapples, oranges, raisins, Green Split Peas, and apple.

Then, we walked by a store selling different crystals and stones. I brought a pair of earrings and a turtle pendant (made with a clear stone... forgot the name of it... :P )

After that, we went to a famous Greek pastry store: Athens Pastries

Athens Pastries has a small selection of high-quality Greek pastries:
1) flaky philo pastry stuffed with a thin layer of custard (bougatsa)
2) flaky philo pastry stuffed with a thin layer of minced meat (bourekakia?)
3) flaky philo pastry stuffed with a thin layer of Spinach and Feta Cheese (Spanakopita)
4) flaky philo pastry stuffed with a thin layer of Feta and Cottage Cheese
5) honey drenched little balls of fried dough (loukoumades)
6) thick slices of custard sandwiched between thin layers of philo pastry (galakto bouriko)

Between the two of us, we brought #1, #3, #4, and #5. The philo pastries were extremely good... crispy and fresh...

Since the pastries were flaky, it was hard for us not to make a mess... hahahahaha :P I was stuffed after eating two honey balls and the cheese philo pastry (#4). I was very amazed that Candy can finish the rest.

We kept walking west along Danforth Ave. and went into any stores that looked interesting. :) One of such stores is Avec Plaisir (Fine Lingerie)... ;)

Then, we hopped on the subway and went to Greg's Ice-cream at St George and Bloor. This store offers many flavours of homemade ice-creams.

I tried the blueberry ice-cream and the famous Roasted marshmallow ice-cream. The blueberry ice-cream is good. The Roasted marshmallow ice-cream is very unusual. However, it tasted more like burned marshmallow instead of roasted marshmallow. :P

After having a big ice-cream cup, we needed to do some exercises, so we walked around the Yorkville area. We walked pass a Ferrari dealership and saw a nice red sport car... I wish I can buy one... hahahahaha....



At night, we went to M0d0 restaurant for a light dinner. The restaurant is very beautiful... The lounge area has 2 bronze-like statues on each side with a big screen in the middle showing black & white movies.... We sat at the bar table in the lounge area.

After the light dinner, we went to Pangaea restaurant for desserts.

This restaurant has a totally different feel than the Mudu restaurant... It has a pale colour but bright and lively environment.... high ceiling... big pot of flower in the middle....


For dessert, I had their famous Banana Coconut Cream Tart and a cappuccino... Banana coconut cream in sweet pastry with coconut sherbet, mango puree, and caramelized bananas... very delicious... I noticed that there is no chocolate between the pastry and the cream to prevent moisture from getting into the pastry. Candy told me that since all desserts are freshly made, there is no need for chocolate. ;)



Candy had the Winter Citrus Tart... Blood oranges with passionfruit in sweet pastry with frozen vanilla-crtrus "shooter" and candied fruit... looks very beautiful...


This was a fun tour!! I wish I can do this more often... but tasty food always have high calories... I need to do more exercise to burn all fat before I can go again... hee hee.... :)
